Our product, KS DB Merge Tools, offers a simple solution for the most common database diff and merge tasks. We aim to provide a straightforward tool for these everyday needs, instead of being a complex and specialized solution for advanced and sophisticated use cases.
KS DB Merge Tools were born out of the personal need of its author, who was unable to find a useful solution for MS Access. The author started by creating AccdbMerge. As the product gained popularity and received feedback from users, the author realized that it required a lot of refinement and support work, much more than expected. This led to the creation of a Pro version to compensate for the time invested.
A year later, the author decided to create a fork of AccdbMerge for MS SQL Server, MssqlMerge. In 2018, the author also added support for MySQL and SQLite, under the name "KS DB Merge Tools".
Until 2021, it was a part-time job for the author, who had to balance it with a full-time job, family responsibilities, and three children. However, starting in September 2021, the author decided to focus on this project full-time. Despite this, the project is still out of profit and the author has to rely on occasional hires of QA engineers for quality review. The author would like to do this more frequently, but currently, it is not possible as the project is not yet profitable enough.
To minimize any kind of regressions, we have a constantly growing suite of UI automation tests for each product. Here is the demo of test execution for our tool for SQLite - as of 01/01/2022 it is 712 tests taking 3 hours to run (in demo it's all compressed into 1.5 minutes). By the way, that's one of the reasons why most of our tools are 32-bit only: another exe would double test execution time to check both 32-bit and 64-bit.
We hope you enjoy using KS DB Merge Tools and find it as useful as its author did. Thank you for choosing our product.
